The second installment, titled “The Anthology,” was not a true shocker to eagle-eyed Swifties who had observed the singer dropping hints about the number two since she announced the album in February at the Grammys. Summer of Art 2024 will take place in-person at Otis College’s main campus in Los Angeles, CA. The breadth of disciplines offered by California’s art schools is as wide-ranging as the state itself. If you're looking exclusively at art schools, you've already narrowed down your choices for college quite a bit. SDSU's College of Professional Studies & Fine Arts (PSFA) is recognized for connecting the college experience with the global community and for preparing its students for professional careers. On average, PSFA places over 700 students in professional internships each year.

“All the pieces of me shattered as the crowd was chanting, ‘More,’” she sings. The incongruity of the lyrics and the peppy melody convey the pain she was experiencing at the height of her career. “You know you’re good when you can even do it with a broken heart,” she sings, cheekily adding, “Try and come for my job,” to close out the track. Even with its stunning melody, the lyrics are the star of this song. Fans are speculating that the track is a sequel of sorts to “London Boy” from 2019’s “Lover,” which details the highs of her relationship with former longtime partner Joe Alwyn. “So Long, London” follows Swift’s tradition of saving the most devastatingly beautiful tune for Track 5, with a level of emotional vulnerability and truth that goes beyond what the singer usually shows.

This reflects the percentage of graduates from this school who enrolled in a 4-year college or university immediately following high school. And so that’s one reason scientists are trying to keep such a close, attentive eye on what’s happening. Yeah, I mean, thinking about vaccinating wild animals maybe makes vaccinating all the chickens in the US look easy. There has been some discussion of limited vaccination campaigns, but that’s not feasible on a global scale.

Moreover, the school's location in San Francisco means that there are several opportunities to connect with creative internships and working artists. Art schools give students the opportunity to interact with many other individuals who share their artistic passions. By contrast, at less specialized schools, art departments might suffer from neglect since they represent a less popular major choice.

It's a large, private not-for-profit, four-year university in a large city. In 2022, 335 Art and Design students graduated with students earning 265 Bachelor's degrees, and 70 Master's degrees. Art Center College of Design offers 8 Art and Design degree programs. It's a small, private not-for-profit, four-year university in a midsize city. In 2022, 209 Art and Design students graduated with students earning 140 Bachelor's degrees, and 69 Master's degrees.

You should also look for colleges that have strong advisory systems and give students lots of individualized attention. These qualities will make for a smooth transition from college to the professional art world. The School of Media, Culture, and Design at Woodbury focuses on a cross-disciplinary approach to art. Classes are paired in order to bring multiple perspectives to bear on the same design problem. Advanced seminars, which incorporate multiple majors, allow students to work together on outside projects or competitions. At ArtCenter, students receive a comprehensive education in their chosen disciplines beginning on day one.

Advanced Placement classes are college-level courses students can take in high school. The percentage of students taking AP classes may reflect whether the school culture is focused on college. Even at schools with strong college and career readiness, there may be students who are not getting the opportunities they need to succeed. So, Emily, we started this conversation with a kind of curiosity that “The Daily” had about the price of eggs. And then somehow we ended up learning about an ecological disaster that’s unfolding all around us, and potentially the source of the next human pandemic. So that gives the virus many more opportunities to become a specialist in mammals instead of a specialist in birds, which is what it is right now.

Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles

Otis has been ranked among the best design schools in the US, with particular distinction in its fashion and animation programs. A strong advising and career counseling system guides Otis students to success in their respective creative fields. Students intern at art galleries, museums, and creative companies such as LEGO and Nike. California State University-Northridge offers 10 Art and Design degree programs. In 2022, 255 Art and Design students graduated with students earning 185 Bachelor's degrees, 66 Master's degrees, and 4 Certificates. It's a large, private not-for-profit, four-year university in a midsize city.

The outbreak of bird flu currently tearing through the nation’s poultry is the worst in U.S. history. Scientists say it is now spreading beyond farms into places and species it has never been before. So basically, this virus is spreading to places it’s never been before, kind of virgin snow territory, where animals just don’t have the immunity against it. And once it gets into a population packed on a beach, say, of elephant seals, it’s just like a knife through butter.

Students gain extensive insight into professional standards and practices through contact with working interior designers. These five California art schools are world-class institutions, with excellent programs in a range of artistic disciplines. An arts education in a small school, within a major university that has every activity and resource you might want, at the center of one of the world’s most exciting creative capitals—that’s Roski. Arts District next door and all of SoCal’s adventures within reach, you’ll have every opportunity to immerse yourself in the arts and enjoy the environs. The school offers a broad range of art classes, such as dance, theater, instrumental music, vocal music, visual art, literary arts, or production art.

And international opportunities include art- and design-related study abroad programs. There’s also the fact that these particular species, these sea lions and seals, tend to breed in these huge colonies all crowded together on beaches. And so what that means is if a virus makes its way into the colony, it’s very conducive conditions for it to spread. That it’s not just that all these seals are picking up the virus from individual birds, but that they’re actually passing it to each other. Summer Youth Camps at Otis College invite young creatives aged 5-14 years to explore art and expression through exciting programs at one of the nation’s top art and design colleges. Our weeklong day camps offer fun opportunities for young artists to discover a variety of mediums.

So they’re constantly swapping genes around and evolving into new strains. And as you mentioned back in the ‘90s, a new version of bird flu, a virus known as H5N1, emerged in Asia. And it has been spreading on and off around the world since then, causing periodic outbreaks.

Whoever came up with the saying “location, location, location” must have been talking about USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. Situated in the heart of Los Angeles, the university is near the corporate offices and production facilities of major motion picture, television, and interactive companies. This proximity helps to connect you to awesome internships and allows industry notables to drop in on classes. The school also is notorious for its help-a-fellow-Trojan mindset, allowing students remarkable access to alumni working in the area. Undergraduate programs include animation and digital arts, interactive entertainment, media arts and practice, writing for screen and television, film and television production, and critical studies.

It is also one of the first art schools to have a full-time Dance Program. The school offers high school diplomas in six arts majors, including fine art, dance, vocal and instrumental music, drama, and film. Each studio has its teachers, classrooms, and exhibitions where students may show their arts to the public. More than 100 students enrolled in its fine arts and design programs. The fine arts department offers a program that combines the traditional liberal arts with art history. Summer of Art at Otis College of Art and Design is an intensive, college immersion experience designed for developing creatives in high school or beyond who are 14.5 years of age or older.

Crêpe Suzette

We started the entire expanding process about 6 years ago with a seasonal food truck in Springfield and Westfield. Through the food truck, we were able to get our name out to cities other than West Springfield. We had a stationary place in Enfield and Holyoke Mall, which was great, but we did not want to depend only on the customers of the shopping mall.

Here, we invite you to embark on a delightful journey of flavors, where crepes and tea take center stage. We are not planning on opening any more locations in the near future nor are we planning to be a franchise, we would rather concentrate on the two existing locations that we have. We want to push towards expanding our menu further and dive into the idea of healthier food and providing a large variety of beverages. The Southwick location will soon provide the sales of alcohol, with 80% of it being European alcohol.

We noticed that many of our customers come from Westfield, North Connecticut, and other towns from the surrounding areas so we wanted to try to open something in that area. In a way, we wanted to escape from any city feel so that we can get closer to the country side. We are committed to reducing waste by using recyclable packaging, and composting all coffee and produce waste. Visit us at “Crepes Tea House” in Southwick, and allow us to transport you to a world of flavors and relaxation.

We make every effort to ensure that our tea leaves undergo a thorough refined processing and a unique formulation. We present our large array of teas in beautifully designed cheerful tea sets of the highest quality. Our menu boasts an impressive array of sweet and savory crepes that cater to all palates. We serve authentic French crêpes (sweet and savory options), gourmet organic coffee, and espresso drinks. I moved here from France in 2018 wanting to pursue my love of cooking and offer Big Bear something unique. Welcome to “Crepes Tea House,” a charming little restaurant nestled in the heart of the Pioneer Valley.

How Much Does a Haircut Cost in 2024? Prices by State

Short layers that start around the temple add lots of volume all the way down. For the grown-up gal who still loves thrift shops and flea markets. Have your stylist dry-cut them so you don't wind up going too short. Layers throughout your whole head will lighten things up for weightless volume. Ever so slightly shorter in the back and gradually longer in the front, this style looks best when worn sleek (so you can actually see the soft gradient). This short 'do is so low maintenance, you can literally roll out of bed and go.

Classic Short Bob Haircuts for Ladies Over 60 Who Want a Youthful Style

Take the back section of your hair, twist it taut and, once again, chop the end off. This will leave the hair at the nape of your neck short with the hair on either side gently fading into longer lengths. Trimming your hair a little longer than your desired length is a good idea for two reasons. Firstly, hair cutting can get tricky and if you have made a mistake, you’ve got some leeway to fix it. Second, if you’re cutting your hair while it’s wet, then it will usually look shorter once it has dried.

If you have straight or wavy hair, Arrunategui suggests smoothing out your hair first with a flat iron. Even if your hair is straight, you may have a cowlick, dents from the way you slept on it, or kinks at the roots from not washing your hair. The idea is to get the hair smooth and dry so that no ridges form or hair shrinks up. The time has come to take matters (and scissors) into your own hands. Typically, we would not advise anyone to cheat on his or her hairstylist—let alone cut your hair at home—but as they say, desperate times call for desperate measures.

Types of Undercut Pixie Cuts & How to Rock It Best

The Sam Villa Artist Series 6” Slide Cutting Shear makes motion cutting easier by pushing hair out as the blades close, creating beautiful soft edges that blend seamlessly. When cutting-in-motion, it’s important to consider your shear entry angle to create the end results you want. A nearly-parallel shear angle will result in soft, subtle layers, while a more pronounced shear angle will remove more hair for a bolder look. Cross-checking is one of those fundamentals you learned in beauty school that can save you time and improve your results. A common problem with layered haircuts is inconsistency within the weight balance. We suggest that you examine the element of elevation because that’s one of the key ways to control the shape of the layer.

Here the line forms a boundary between longer faded hair above and shorter faded hair below. And, while they’re not quite lines, the two fangs in front create a similar effect. They separate the fringe and add a ton of visual interest, so that’s another option to consider if you want a different look or texture. The disconnected line grows in width as it reaches the front of the head, and that change in size is a cool way to change up the hairstyle. The term here “disconnected” refers to a technique that uses a shaved line to disconnect the top and the sides.

Twist Fringe / Twist Bang Technique - An update to your favorite

The cut requires basic tools, can be done alone, and works well on long, straight hair. Stream a video on your cell phone or an iPad or, for something even more attention grabbing, try a portable game console like our pick, the Nintendo Switch. From sleek, French-inspired bobs to shaggy, textured strands we’re seeing such a wide array of hairstyle trends in 2022. This flipped-out layered look combines styles from the ’70s and early 2000s, which are both huge right now. We love how a blowout gives this look a modern twist too, instead of being a harsh flip like we’ve seen in the past. Hop on the texture look by creating voluminous curls throughout your hair.

The length in the front gives your style some personality, and the medium taper adds some classic edge. It’s just as suitable for a day at work as a pub crawl, and when paired with a thick, full beard, it oozes sex appeal. Styling with your favorite low-shine pomade is quick and easy. The modern side swept hairstyle is a trendy and sexy option that can look extra masculine with a full beard. It’s perfect for men who have thick hair between 3 and 5 inches long. To style it, simply brush your hair to one side, being sure to leave it textured and messy in the process.

Ownership over the Foundations of Haircutting opens up limitless creativity and flexibility in your hairdressing. By truly understanding the concepts of Elevation, Overdirection, Finger Angle, etc... You take the guesswork out of adapting haircuts to the needs of your salon guests. If you’re serious about committing to the home-haircut lifestyle and are looking to invest past a simple handheld mirror, here’s your splurge.

Take a vertical section, elevate the hair to 90 degrees and cut straight across. Use your shears to create deep peaks and valleys that will soften as they fall. It’s hard to use clippers on short hair when you can’t see the back of your own head. If you can, ask someone else to help out (as long as you don’t start resenting them if they mess it up).

Just apply some pomade to damp hair and use a brush to pull hair up and slightly over to one side, using your fingertips to style the textured spikes. Discover a fresh approach to cutting and styling a short shag haircut. Learn how to utilize a diffuser and a "crinkling" effect to coax out the massive texture created through the detached and disconnected layers in this short haircut. Drop a fine horizontal layer of hair over the guide pieces to define your perimeter. Clip the rest of the front section back on top of the head.

If you’re going to attempt to maintain your ‘do at home, gear up with the right professional tips and tools to make your hairstylist proud when this is all over. If you want to cut your lob, bob or shoulder-length hair, this method involves bringing hair to the front and securing with small elastics before trimming off ends. Clean up any choppy ends with small, precise cuts for best results.

Isolate the hair below this section with clips, and part the triangle section down the center. Whether you call them baby bangs, baby fringe, or statement fringe, textured short bangs are everywhere right now. The key to creating this dramatic look is to work with intention and purpose (and add a touch of softness to make it more wearable!). To create blunt bangs, start by drawing a line from the corner of the eye up to the top of the head on each side. (For most guests, the two lines will connect just below the high point of the head.) The hair that falls in front will form the fringe. Here’s a new way to create a long curtain fringe using reverse graduation.

Working with dry hair, create a center part and isolate the hair that will make up the fringe in a triangle-shaped section. Continue working back through the hair in diagonal forward sections, adding each new section to the existing layers and over-directing the hair to the center part. Extend your hand to one finger length past the previous layer, then cut any hair that remains. Keep working past the ear until you run out of hair and all of the hair falls out when over-directed forward. Keep your shear angle parallel to the floor and create straight blunt lines. The over-direction gives you natural graduation that follows the head shape. Next, separate another small horizontal section from the crown. Pick up a guide piece, elevate the hair at 90 degrees to the head shape, and point cut the center section to the length of the guide. Elevating the hair gives these long curtain bangs tons of movement and beautiful soft edges. Here's a cool way to create a fringe with a sense of fullness but disrupted texture around the edges.

This is a curly zigzag pattern that goes from the front of the head to just past the ear. It consists of both sharp and curved lines, so it’s a really eye-catching pattern. For example, you can do it with multiple lines, or you can do it with lines that are shaped differently. That said, less is probably more here, as the subtle effect works best when it’s simpler and easier to see. And here it’s placed at the back of the head right where the top and sides meet.

Not all mohawks are a foot tall, colorful, and gelled into sharp points, and this amazing mohawk fade is the perfect example. Hair in the center stands straight up to form something resembling tousled spikes while the close-cropped fade and short beard adds another dimension of interest. This sexy and modern long hair curly fade is one of the best ways to embrace your natural curls simply and effortlessly.

Watch almost any DIY haircut video on YouTube and you’re bound to see women pulling their hair into bobbles left, right, and center. The days of Mom putting a bowl on your head and cutting around the edge are well and truly over, strategic bobble placement is the way forward. While the nationwide average cost for a haircut (men and women’s) was around $53 in 2020, it’s up to about $56 now.

To create your diamond section, rock the comb along the part behind the ear. The place where the comb comes off the head will form one point of your diamond. Repeat at the front of the head by rocking the flat side of the comb along the center part. Use your comb to connect these two points and isolate the hair with a Dry Sectioning Clip.

Sure, depending on your hair texture, your stylist might wet your hair before cutting it. Wet hair allows stylists to achieve precise lines, but it's important to remember that they have had professional training. Keep scrolling to find out what hairstyles and haircuts will be trending in 2022. If you have very curly hair, try a DIY Deva Cut, another technique that requires dry natural hair. Instead of brushing out your hair, just separate the curls with your fingers. For afro-textured hair, keep your hair dry, with no products, and brush it out to its fullest.

This curly hair fade is one of the best hairstyles for men with curly hair. If you view your curly hair as a curse, this taper fade haircut may just change your mind. Wondering how to cut curtain bangs that fall straight down in the center and drop off into long, sweeping edges? The secret to obtaining this sharp drop in length while maintaining softness is to use a blend of vertical and horizontal cutting techniques. Holding the hair as low as possible, with minimal elevation, grip the hair with the index and middle fingers of your cutting hand over the bridge of the nose.

Norwegian Escape Itinerary, Current Position, Ship Review

norwegian cruise escape

On Norwegian Escape, the traditional suites are all tucked away within The Haven. Plenty of cruise ships feature exhilarating top-deck experiences, but Escape promises the biggest and best yet. A three-story ropes course with five sky rails to zipline and two planks to walk over the side of the ship (along with a ropes course just for kids) beckons passengers with 99 total course components. Nearby, cool off at the ship's water park, which includes four water slides, four hot tubs, two pools and a kids' splash area. Norwegian Escape cruise ship deck plan shows a total of 2174 staterooms (15 types, 42 categories) for 4266 passengers (max capacity is 5218) served by 1730 crew-staff.

Experience a Spa-like Snowstorm

Oceanview staterooms carry the same décor theme, but offer even more space, as a higher category stateroom. The ocean view is going to be behind you whenever you’re in bed, as the rectangular window type means windows are situated on the walls directly behind the bed. In comparison, Norwegian Breakaway measures in at 145,655 GT. When it launched, Norwegian Escape was the largest Norwegian Cruise Line ship (now, that honor goes to Norwegian Encore). Norwegian Escape currently sits within the top 35 world’s largest cruise ships. Here's an over and guide of the Norwegian Escape cruise ship, including all the venues and onboard features.

Norwegian Escape

Whether you’re dining inside or oceanside on The Waterfront, our specialty restaurants feature the tastes you’ll crave. The 678 Ocean Place atrium connects The Waterfront’s outdoor spaces with dining venues. The 114 Oceanview staterooms include 48 Family Oceanview staterooms to accommodate up to five guests per room. Each room features large windows offering picturesque ocean views and two convertible lower beds with an option for two pullmans in some suites. The solo, or studio, staterooms, are the smallest of the bunch, with just enough room for a full-size bed and a private bathroom. Studio guests enjoy access to their own Studio Lounge, and single travelers who book a studio stateroom do not have to pay the default single supplement at the time of booking.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

Of note, this dining package is not valid at The Food Republic, and there is an additional upcharge for Bayamo and Pincho Tapas Bar. Norwegian Escape (2015-built) is the first of all four Breakaway Plus-class Norwegian Cruise Lines ships– together with the sisterships Norwegian Joy (2017), Norwegian Bliss (2018) and Norwegian Encore (2019). Norwegian Escape is in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Breakaway Plus Class, where it joins sister ships Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Joy. The Breakaway Plus Class was launched in 2015 and has received rave reviews worldwide since.

On our cruise, there were three piano players who rotated playing, singing, and bantering with each other and the crowd. All three performers were solid, but the energy of the show really depended on the crowd. No reservations can be made for Howl at the Moon, and the crowd typically comes and goes throughout the evening. It is a great spot for both an early morning breakfast, as well as the late night munchies. If you do not feel like a sit-down meal, one of our best Norwegian Escape Secrets is to get your food to-go.

You can also order room service 24 hours per day, though it does come with service fees. Then, The Haven restaurant is also complimentary, but that complimentary access is only open to Haven guests staying in suites. The Deluxe suite offers a king-size bed, in-suite hot tub and oversized waterfall shower in the modern upscale bathroom, among other features. Ship's Inaugural Cruise (maiden voyage) started on October 29, 2015.

The Headliners Comedy Club is a small venue, and shows sell out quickly, so we suggest booking the shows on embarkation day. If you don’t get reservations, you will have to wait in the standby line the day of the show. For free, you can take your photo live from Norwegian Escape and post it to social media or email it to yourself. So, one of our Norwegian Escape Secrets is to purchase a Norwegian Cruise Line specialty dining plan.

Thermal Spa Day Passes

Whether it’s the two of you or your family, our mini-suites are accented with the finest touches. Get ready to sail on one of the most exciting ships on the seas! Norwegian Escape is ready to whisk you away to The Caribbean from Miami and Orlando, Canada & New England from New York, and the Mediterranean from Rome. Indulging in every whim is what unforgettable vacations are made of.

From speedboat adventures to deep sea fishing, and even a dune buggy safari, The Caribbean is prime with thrilling activities. These stylish staterooms feature fine appointments, which are highlighted by nice touches and clear views of the ocean. Dine like nowhere else at sea with all of the freedom and flexibility of Freestyle Dining.

Similar to the second Broadway show that was offered on our cruise, it is likely that this show will play on two different nights of your cruise, with an early and late show. On our sailing, Million Dollar Quartet was featured on Day 3 and Day 4. Million Dollar Quartet has now been moved to Getaway to make room for The Brat Pack in the Main Theater. Be mindful that the entire course may not be open on windy sea days, so another one of our Norwegian Escape Secrets is to try the ropes course on a port day. Don’t wait in that long line at the most popular restaurant to make reservations. A maître d at any restaurant can reserve a table for any restaurant if space is available.

Norwegian Escape is the first at sea to have acclaimed brands LACOSTE and Carolina Herrera. These are the first boutiques to be designed specifically for a Norwegian Cruise Line ship. A total of 19 transformers, comprising four propulsion transformers with a capacity of 11,250kVA each and four distribution transformers with an output of 2,500kVA, were supplied by ABB. The remaining kVA and 2,500kVA transformers are fitted in different parts of the cruise ship. Solo travellers are accommodated in 82 studios with access to the private Studio Lounge. Each room features private keycard access, a full-size bed and a 100m² area for toilet, sink and shower.

Dance parties include the 80’s night featuring plenty of music from the decade of big hair and stretch pants and the Glow Party. So, be sure to pack a white or neon outfit and a few glow sticks to rock out at this party under the black lights. It is not your imagination, the ship does get busier as the cruise progresses. Regardless of the itinerary, lines and waits will be longer towards the end of the cruise for signature attractions. So, use the first full sea days to do things like the rope course and waterslides, eat at Margaritaville, or play mini-golf.

Head towards the back and you should be able to find a seat pretty easily, usually even a booth. Don’t worry, all of the food stations serve primarily the same foods, so you will not be missing anything by sitting in the back, except the crowds. On a few mornings, I went downstairs to order a “bakery basket” so we could dine in our room while getting ready for the day. We saw plenty of people throughout the cruise getting all types of food, at all hours of the day, to go. Outfitted with original memorabilia as well as its iconic neon sign, Tobacco Road serves up cocktail creations by renowned mixologist Leo Holtzman, along with a bit of nostalgia.
